Where To Pamper Yourself In Vanuatu

By Ali Holder

How to enjoy your luxury break to Vanuatu

As a little-known destination in the South Pacific, Vanuatu is full of opportunities for switching off and relaxing when vacation time rolls around. People from abroad visit Vanuatu for an average of ten days – and many are looking for a chance to kick back and get pampered as a break from their regular lives during that time. If you’re thinking of planning a luxury break to Vanuatu, don’t forget to schedule in some time for treating yourself.

When you go on a holiday to Vanuatu, remember to allow time in your schedule to treating
yourself at one of the many places and resorts, as well as enjoy some fine dining.

Relaxing accommodations

The first thing to do if you’re planning a relaxing and pampering trip to Vanuatu is to look for a hotel which offers these services. Vanuatu’s 80 or so islands have a relatively small area of just over 12,000 square kilometres, but there are plenty of resort areas in particular to look for if you’re hoping to access some pampering – such as Espiritu Santo. Spa treatments for your face are available at hotels in many of these locations, and if you’re looking for a specific treatment it may be worth emailing the hotel ahead of time.

And there are also plenty of beautiful rooms with luxury linen, furniture and more to look forward to. The Irirki Island Resort, for example, offers everything from an on-site casino to private balconies with hot tubs which look out over the gorgeous sea.

Everything from casual to fine dining

Another aspect of a luxury trip is the food you plan to eat – and Vanuatu is no exception. Luckily for the discerning diner, there are a range of restaurants to pick from here: the Blue Marlin club in Port Vila, for example, not only offers fresh seafood and high-end meat dishes but also provides outdoor seating which allows you to take in the views of the ocean. There are plenty of cuisines represented here thanks to the diverse history of Vanuatu, and it’s possible to find everything from Thai to traditional Melanesian.

Innovative and unusual natural treatments is the way to go when you are in Vanuatu,
available at the Volcanic Earth Healing Centre Day Spa.

Natural treatments

While facials, massages and more are all available here in Vanuatu, it’s important to remember that there are also some innovative and unusual natural treatments which are on the cards here. The Volcanic Earth Healing Centre Day Spa is a popular site in Vanuatu, and it is based around locally sourced volcanic substances such as magnesium minerals to help reinvigorate your nervous system. It won an award during the Alternative Medicine and Holistic Health Awards back in 2018, and is a must-visit for a spa-seeking tourist.

Visiting Vanuatu is a great way to break out of your comfort zone and enjoy something a little different. And while natural wonders like Mount Tabwemasana offer scope for adventure and towns like Port Vila with its market stalls are thriving and bustling, that doesn’t mean there’s no chance to relax either. From luxury restaurants to hotels offering indulgent spa treatments, there are plenty of places to wind down here in Vanuatu.
