The FIVB Seoul Women's Challenger 2011 took place in South Korea from June 15-19. The beach volleyball tournament featured 32 teams from around world. Vanuatu, seeded 15th, was the only team from Oceania.
After a close first round 1 lost to Malaysia (1:2) Vanuatu prepared a whole new game strategy to beat Netherlands (2:0). The next game was against the Swedish pairing seeded 8th. Vanuatu girls controlled the momentum the whole game and won 2:0. The last game of the day Vanuatu faced Canada (seeded 6th). It was a really good close game. The Canadians are a strong qualification World Tour team. Vanuatu led most of the game but was unable to keep the high quality of performance for the whole duration, unforced errors at the end of sets was their undoing. The final set score was a close 0:2 (18-21, 20-22). The Vanuatu team will now travel to Manchester University for a training camp next week before joining the FIVB World Tour in Norway.
