Red Wave Arts exhibition in Port Vila

The first Vanuatu and Solomon Islands joint art exhibition features exceptional artists in painting, carving, and pottery. These rich and vibrant masterpieces come from Red Wave artists of Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. All ten exhibitors are members of the regional Red Wave Arts Association which was founded by Professor Epeli-Aofa from Tonga. In Vanuatu, there are eight members of the Red Wave Arts Association including Andrew Tavovor who re-painted the VTO’s Visitor Centre and Administration office.

The association President, Mr Jean Paul Ture Garae, reported that the association formed as a result of the founder’s vision to promote a unique form of traditional and contemporary art right across Oceania. This proclamation was made at the Red Wave’s first workshop 3 years ago which Ture Garae attended and today, Professor Epeli-Aofa’s vision is now a reality boasting, to name a few, members from Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Samoa, Micronesia, Cook Islands, Tuvalu, and Niue. The exhibition held at the French Exhibition centre closed on the 9th September, since opening on 31st August. For more information, call Jean Paul on +678 77 56880.
