Usually, when people travel, they have to put their everyday routines on hold. Sleep schedule, diet plans, and exercise routines get cast aside, due to hectic obligations that traveling entails. But, if you prepare properly and have enough experience with traveling, you can learn how to keep some of your routines. Sure, you will be enjoying many activities while in Vanuatu, but it's more fun when you're fit. So, let's see why it is important to maintain your exercise routine while traveling, and how you should go about doing so.

Regular exercise does wonders for maintaining your health. Your blood pressure, hormonal regulation, immune system, and respiratory system are all closely connected to how often and how well you exercise. So much so that it is not uncommon for people to start deteriorating quite rapidly once they stop exercising. Therefore, if you want to do yourself a favor and stay healthy, maintain your exercise routine while traveling, even if it's just hiking or going for a walk. If there is one thing that traveling is, it's stressful. Even mundane journeys like going from one airport to the next are plagued with a bunch of little stresses. Now that we know why you need to maintain your exercise routine while traveling, let's take a look at the how. Now, doing pushups every once in a while is better than nothing. But, it is no substitute for a well thought out workout regiment. So, before you start planning your trip to Vanuatu, sit down and carefully consider how and why you are going to work out.

Have a clear idea of why you need to exercise

If there is one thing that all people agree on its that exercising is important. You'd be hardpressed to find a person that cannot tell you why working out is good and why everyone should do it. But, once they have to go through the trouble of exercising, those reasons take the backseat. Comfort and laziness become the norm and postponing exercises an unfortunate routine. So, in order to avoid this from happening to you, you need to think long and hard about why you are exercising. You need to have a clear idea of why you should leave your comfortable couch and favorite TV show and start exercising. The clearer your goals are, the easier it will be to motivate yourself.

Which exercises to prioritize

Every person has different training requirements. This is why we will not go into much depth into how to organize yours. Ideally, you want to consult with a professional and formulate a comprehensive training plan. But, if you do not have the time to do so, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

 Use bodyweight - If you do not have much experience with exercising, we suggest that you stick with bodyweight exercises. Simple jumping jacks are the best exercise to lose body fat fast. And, if done properly, they entail little risk of injury.

 Stretch - Travelling often means that you will spend a lot of time sitting down. To mitigate this you need to stretch your back and your hamstrings. Remember that every exercise session should start and end with 10-15 minutes of stretching.

 Educate yourself - We live in the information age. Therefore, there is no excuse for you to simply start exercising and stretching without any prior knowledge. Go to sites like YouTube and check out an instructional video. Only by properly doing your exercise will you reap the benefits and avoid injuries.

As always, exercises have to be done properly and safely, especially while
traveling, to avoid an injury and spoilting your holiday and travel plans.

Using apps

Between all the chaos and hassle that occurs while traveling, you might forget to do your exercises. Or, you might even forget which exercises you need to do. Luckily, there are ways in which you can keep yourself organized and maintain your exercise routine while traveling. There are now hundreds of different apps you can download that can help you with your exercise programs. These apps will remind you when you need to exercise, keep track of your reps and sets and even help motivate you. Some of them even come with training programs and explanatory videos, which makes exercising even easier and safer.

Having fun

The final thing we would like for you to keep in mind is that you need to have fun while exercising. Know that lifting weights and doing pushups is not the only way to exercise. Running, swimming, rowing, dancing, doing yoga... All of them are viable ways for you to exercise. You can even go bike riding, or diving and snorkeling. Find something that is fun for you to do. You will have a much easier time motivating yourself to exercise if you know that exercising will be fun. So, don't worry so much about performance or about losing weight. Instead, do what is fun and the benefits of exercising will come on their own accord.
